  • PM NARENDRA MODI FLAGS OFF DELHI METRO’S MAGENTA LINE

A fully automated platform screen doors seen at a station on Delhi metro’s Magenta Line during the trial run on the Botanical Garden – Kalkaji Mandir section in New Delhi. Delhi metro completed 15 years on 25 December, PM Narendra Modi flagged off the magenta line 12.64 km long section covering a total network size closer to 350 km. The magenta line went open for public at 5pm on 25 december evening.

  • MAHARASHTRA PLANS TO GENERATE 25,000 MW ELECTRICITY THROUGH SOLAR ENERGY

Minister of Maharashtra Energy Chandrashekhar Bawankule informed that government has set the target of producing 25,000 MW electricity using solar energy. The government plans to take this to the capacity to 10,000MW.  It plans for about 4,000 MW solar energy projects and it will be given between March and December 2019.

Maharashtra is the No.1 state producing power through renewable energy with 7,500 MW generation capacity.

  • AG600: WORLD’S LARGEST AMPHIBIOUS AIRCRAFT TAKES OFF

The AG600 amphibious aircraft can land and take off from water. It has wingspan of 38.8 metres. It is powered by four turboprop engines. China’s home-grown AG600, also known as ‘Kunlong’, the world’s largest amphibious aircraft took off took off from the southern city of Zhuhai and landed after roughly an hour- long flight.
