- INDIA TO HOST THE WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION (WTO) MEMBERS MEETING ON FOOD SECURITY
India to host the meeting of WTO members in February 2018, in support of food security and other issues as announced by the Commerce and Industry Minister Suresh Prabhu at an event organized by Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) in New Delhi.
- INDIAN RAILWAYS PLANS TO MAKE ALL STATIONS 100% LED LIT BY MARCH 2018
In an eco-friendly measure to reduce power consumption, Indian Railways has planned to make all stations 100% LED lit by March 2018. Under the scheme, they would provide 100% LED lightning for energy needs in railway staff colonies, stations and platforms.

Indian junior boxers has set the one of the fifth international Sven Lange Memorial Tournament in Germany clinging six gold, four silver and a bronze medal to finish as overall champions in the German city of Schwerin. India was named the tournament’s best team.

- INDIA RANKED AS 60th IN GLOBAL INNOVATION INDEX
In the term of the top-ranked economy in Central and South Asia, India has set itself on the top up six places to the 60th spot among 130 nations on the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2017.
The index which is co-authored by Cornell University, INSEAD and World Intellectual Property Organisation show India’s rise as an emerging innovation centre in Asia, although the country ranks far behind China which is at 22nd position.
The Global Innovation Index provides detailed metrics about the innovation performance of 127 countries and economies around the world.
