ON DEC 31, RAJNI ANNOUNCES YEAR’S MOST AWAITED PARTY
After five days of interaction with his fans following AIADMK rebel TTV Dinakaran’s victory in the RK Nagar by election, Rajinikanth said he would float a political party that would contest all the 234 assembly constituencies in the state. “My political entry is confirmed. This is the need of the hour,” said Rajini, calling for an honest and transparent system of governance to uproot corruption and practise “spiritual politics”.
‘BHAVANTAR BHARPAYEE YOJANA’ LAUNCHED BY HARYANA GOVERNMENT FOR VEGETABLE FARMERS
‘Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana’ has been launched by the Haryana government which guarantees farmers the fair prices for the crops they produce and emphasise on diversification of crops. A fund is represented by the state of Haryana for this scheme. The farmers will have to register themselves on Bhavantar Bharpayi website or in the office of Haryana State Agriculture Marketing Board.
ISRO TO LAUNCH 31 SATELLITES
ISRO’s mission will be the first Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) mission after the unsuccessful launch of navigation satellite IRNSS-1H in August. ISRO on Friday announced that it would launch 31 satellites, including India’s Cartosat-2 series earth observation spacecraft, in a single mission onboard its Polar rocket on January 10.
The mission will be the first Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) mission after the unsuccessful launch of navigation satellite IRNSS-1H in August.
SAUDI ARABIA, UAE INTRODUCE VAT FOR THE FIRST TIME
Saudi Arabia and UAE to be the first countries of Gulf Cooperation (GCC) to introduce the Value Added Tax (VAT) for the first time to increase the revenue from oil reserves. On the other hand the other members of GCC- Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar have made up the same mind to introduce VAT though some have delayed the plan to implement it in 2019.
INDIA WILL ASK UK TO REVIEW RESTRICTIONS ON WORK VISA
India- UK trade meet to focus on visa restrictions, trade barriers.India will ask the UK to review restrictions on work visas imposed last year that has affected the Indian IT industry when Trade Ministers from both countries interact at the India-UK Joint Economic and Trade Committee (JETCO) meeting in London later this month.
